Iranian FM Spokesman: Claims on nuclear, missile programs, unrest death toll are ‘big lies’

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has dismissed claims about the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and the number of people killed during recent unrest as “big lies,” saying fabricated narratives are being used to advance a hostile propaganda campaign against the nation.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has dismissed claims about the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and the number of people killed during recent unrest as “big lies,” saying fabricated narratives are being used to advance a hostile propaganda campaign against the nation.

In a post on his X account, Baqaei said repeated allegations made by US officials and the Israeli regime rely on the deliberate creation of a false reality.

“Professional liars are good at creating the ‘illusion of truth,’ he said.” “‘Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth’, is a law of propaganda coined by Nazi Joseph Goebbels.”

“This is now systematically used by the U.S. administration and the war profiteers encircling it, particularly the genocidal Israeli regime, to serve their sinister disinformation & misinformation campaign against the Nation of Iran,” he said.

“Whatever they’re alleging in regards to Iran’s nuclear program, Iran’s ballistic missiles, and the number of casualties during January’s unrest is simply the repetition of ‘big lies’. No one should be fooled by these prominent untruths.”

His remarks followed comments by US President Donald Trump, who claimed in a speech to Congress that Iran was working on ballistic missiles capable of reaching US territory and threatening Europe and American bases abroad.

Trump also alleged that Washington had warned Tehran against rebuilding a weapons program, especially nuclear arms, claiming that Iran’s nuclear program had been destroyed and was now being restarted.

Iran has repeatedly rejected such accusations, insisting its nuclear activities are peaceful and conducted within international frameworks.
